Eid celebrations took place across the Maldives with major events held in Malé. The president and the first family attended a children's evening organised by the military and police, while a drone show and fireworks were held in Hulhumalé.

An Imam and a reserve Imam have been banned from delivering Friday sermons in the Maldives after missing the Eid prayer. The pair were to lead prayers at a mosque in Hulhumalé, but failed to show up for work. The congregation was instead led by an expatriate.

The Criminal Court has released a man arrested on allegations of battery, after he spent two months in detention without charges being filed. The court said prosecutors had failed to show valid reasoning for his continued detention, and noted that any sentencing would likely be shorter than the time he had already spent in custody.

Police arrested a man who had been reported missing since March 11, after allegedly discovering him with drugs. Local media reported the man was remanded in custody.
