Two 17-year-old boys were injured in a fight Wednesday afternoon in the capital’s suburb Hulhumalé.
The teenagers were taken to the Hulhumalé hospital around 12:10pm, according to a hospital official.
One of the boys, who was from the southern island of Rathafandhoo in Gaaf Dhaal atoll, was undergoing treatment at the emergency room for serious injuries. The other victim sustained minor injuries. He was from the southernmost Addu City.
Two suspects have been arrested and the assault is under investigation, police said.
Two men aged 23 and 28 were injured in a fight near the central mall in Hulhumalé last Sunday night. The older victim sustained head injuries and was transferred to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Malé for scans.
