Maldives police raided a house Wednesday night in the capital, with reports saying it was connected to the jailed lawmaker Faris Maumoon.

The house is in the Maafannu ward of Malé and belongs to the family of Mohamed Allam Latheef ‘Moho’ – a fugitive wanted in relation to the MMPRC corruption scandal.

Sesna was raided several times after former vice president Ahmed Adeeb was arrested over an explosion on the president’s speedboat.

An apartment belonging to Faris, who is the son of former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, is on the fifth floor of the eight-storey building, according to Raajje TV.

Two men were arrested and a bag was taken from Sesna on Thursday morning, Raajje TV reported.

The first person was arrested around midnight and the second was arrested Thursday morning.

A police spokesman said he was unaware of the raid and was working to confirm whether one had taken place.
