Sociologist Ray Oldenburg called them third places. The social surroundings separate from home and the workplace, where a city's life actually happens. The walk home, the evening stroll, the meetup spot, the bench by the sea. This archive, photographed across 2014 and 2015, catches a Malé already in the middle of its disappearance.
