In an unprecedented move, police raided Adhadhu with a warrant at 8pm on Monday night, searching the outlet's office in Malé for four hours and confiscating electronic devices and other equipment. The Criminal Court's order stated that the search was authorised in relation to an investigation into a video report published online by Adhadhu on March 29, in which a former President’s Office staffer alleged she had a sexual relationship with President Muizzu. Adhadhu and its staff are accused of committing qazf or falsely accusing someone of adultery under section 612 of the penal code. A separate court warrant was later issued to impose a travel ban on Adhadhu CEO Hussain Fiyaz Moosa, barring him from flying overseas until July 26, citing an intelligence report which allegedly informed police that Fiyaz was planning to flee the country.

The project will move ahead soon through the procurement process, he added. Muizzu also said MVR 3.3 billion (US$ 214 million) in outstanding payments had been disbursed to local companies over the past six months.
Police removed “gravestones” and white flags placed at the foundation site of a housing project in Kulhudhuffushi, which had been inaugurated on April 1 ahead of the local council elections. The items, which appeared overnight, were a satirical protest against the stalled project. “President Muizzu’s pledge to build 200 housing units” was born and buried on April 1, 2026, read the makeshift gravestones.
