The security control of jailed former vice president Ahmed Adeeb’s prison cell has been assigned to Special Operations police.
SO officers began managing the cell’s security on Thursday, a source told Raajje.mv.
Adeeb’s cell was raided last week by police on suspicion that he was a hiding a mobile phone and using it to contact people to give instructions on tweeting about his health condition.
The raid was conducted by a police forensic team from the capital, whereas previous raids have been conducted by police teams stationed at the facility where Adeeb is detained.
