Secret terror trial for ex defence minister

Ameen Faisal, who was charged with terrorism over the 2010 detention of President Abdulla Yameen, will be tried behind closed doors, the criminal court has ruled.

A former defence minister charged with terrorism over the 2010 detention of President Abdulla Yameen, then an MP, will be tried behind closed doors, the criminal court has ruled.
Ameen Faisal faces up to 15 years in jail if found guilty.
He was charged with abduction under the now-defunct 1990 Anti Terrorism Act, and has been barred from leaving the country.
The terror trial began Sunday.
