President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has today met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani during an official visit to the country.
According to the President’s Office website, several topics were discussed during the meeting, including promoting investment in the Maldives in areas such as education and infrastructure.
President Waheed also praised the emir for his leadership in addressing “critical issues facing the Islamic world”, adding that Qatar had become an important player in global politics.
