Citing lack of evidence, the Prosecutor General's Office declined to press corruption charges against former HDC boss Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed over the fraudulent ownership transfer of a Hulhumalé plot to his brother. The plot had been registered under the name of former MWSC deputy managing director Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, despite his application being deemed ineligible under the previous administration's Binveriya scheme, prompting Fazul's resignation as HDC managing director. According to the PG office, neither Fazul nor HDC IT Head Abdulla Shuhood could be linked to the alleged deletion of documents from company servers. Both the HDC and police investigations found no evidence of missing data or documents, the PG office said.
The MDP's national council voted to appoint Hanimaadhoo MP Abdul Ghafoor Moosa as interim chairman with the backing of 65 members, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of former economic minister Fayyaz Ismail amid internal strife among rival factions. Ghafoor defeated former parliament speaker Mohamed Aslam and former Dhidhdhoo MP Abdulla Waheed. A previous attempt to elect an interim chair on November 29 failed after heated quarrels forced the meeting's adjournment.
Munawwar Adam, a police officer, was arrested and suspended over the alleged theft of 31 cartons of seized cigarettes that went missing from the Vilimalé police station last month. Six cartons from a batch of 32 seized from an expatriate on May 23 had been found to be missing before they were to be handed over to Customs on November 12. A subsequent investigation revealed that 25 additional cartons seized from two expatriates on December 23 last year had also gone missing.

Immigration detained 18 undocumented foreign workers during a raid on an accommodation block in the Dilkusha Goalhi in Malé where food was being prepared and packed on a large scale without proper hygiene standards. Images showed food packed in plastic packets inside paper boxes in confined spaces, with a cooking stove visible in what appeared to be a bathroom. The operation, conducted by the Immigration task force, also searched four accommodation blocks. The detained individuals are set to be deported after processing as part of ongoing operations targeting undocumented foreign nationals.
Police launched new digital products and services including an enhanced mobile app featuring direct communication with investigating officers, scam checking, case tracking, and evidence submission, as well as a Cyber Portal enabling searches of reported scam links, messages, phone numbers, and email addresses. The launch event also showcased a Fleet Management System for police vehicles, an Entry Management System for administrative tasks, and a Police Infrastructure Projects System for monitoring development projects.
