Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) MP Hassan Adil has been transferred to house arrest following a police investigation into allegations of child molestation.
The case was sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office on April 7.
Adil was formerly an MP of the opposition-aligned Dhivehi Qaumee Party (DQP) before joining the ruling party.
