High Court Judge Hassan Ali’s car was vandalised on Thursday.
The vandalism occurred while the red car was parked behind the Hulhumalé flats, according to media reports.
It was reported to police around 6:15pm. Photos circulating on social media showed the front and rear windshields were smashed.
Hassan Ali was appointed to the High Court in May 2018.
He previously served as controller of immigration during former president Abdulla Yameen’s administration. In January 2015, was transferred to the housing ministry and went to become the High Court’s registrar until his appointment to the Aasandha health insurance company.
He was sacked as Aasandha managing director in December 2017. At the time of his appointment to the bench, he was the deputy minister of education.
