Telecoms provider Ooredoo launched today a campaign with free data and minutes for its customers to mark ten years of service in the Maldives.
Ooreedoo Maldives, formerly Wataniya, was issued a license as a mobile phone operator in February 2005. It is the sole competitor to Dhiraagu, the state-owned telecoms company.
Ooredoo’s Thank You Maldives campaign offers includes 50 free minutes to call family and friends today, a 10 percent bonus with every recharge of over MVR50 today, and 50 MB of free data every morning from 8am-10am between August 1 and 10.
Ooredoo will also have a lucky draw amongst its most loyal customers. Prizes include MacBook Air, Apple TVs, iPhone 6 and iPads.
Vikram Sinha, CEO of Ooredoo Maldives said: “As we celebrate 10 years in the Maldives, we would like to thank our customers for their incredible support throughout the past decade.”
The government last week granted Ooredoo a license to provide Internet services.
