One Chinese tourist died and another one was injured in the Maldives Sunday after an accident in Baa Atoll.
The 27-year old man died after colliding with a dinghy propeller while snorkelling in the lagoon of Finolhu resort.
The incident happened around 10 am, reported VFP.
He had been snorkelling with a 24-year old woman, who was injured in the accident.
She is being treated at Baa Atoll Regional Hospital and will be transferred to Malé for further treatment, police confirmed.
Police were notified of the accident at 11:30 am. They did not reveal details of the injuries or the accident.
The Maldives Independent contacted Finolhu resort but was told they did not wish to comment at the current time and that the PR department would send a statement once one was available.
