MP Abdulla Khaleel has fallen out with the government over the failure to deliver on an airport pledge, VFP reports, citing a source close to the MP for Faafu Nilandhoo.
According to VFP, the ruling party’s secretary-general has been absent from party activities and social media for the past few days.
“Nilandhoo is an island with huge support for President Yameen. But Nilandhoo is despairing over the airport issue. Despite being included in the budget for the last two years there’s no certainty yet that it would begin,” the anonymous source told the online paper.
