President Abdulla Yameen made four new ministerial appointments today. Former Attorney General Azima Shakoor was appointed as minister of legal affairs at the president’s office.
Azima was previously working as a legal consultant at the president’s office. Her ministerial appointment comes weeks after Yameen’s Legal Affairs Secretary Aishath Bisham was appointed as the prosecutor general.
Former State Minister at the president’s office Mohamed Mujuthaz was assigned to a new post of a similar rank – minister of state for presidential affairs at the president’s office.
Yameen’s nephew Gassan Maumoon, who was appointed as state minister at the president’s office in April, was assigned the post of minister of state for social affairs at the president’s office.
