Three arrested on charges of raping an underaged girl
Two men and a minor have been arrested from the southern island of Madaveli in Gaaf Dhaal atoll on suspicion of raping an underaged girl.

Two men and a minor have been arrested from the southern island of Madaveli in Gaaf Dhaal atoll on suspicion of raping an underaged girl.
The suspects were taken into custody with arrest warrants on Monday night, the police said. The Thinadhoo magistrate court has since extended their remand detention to 15 days.
Ishan Ahmed, a member of the Madaveli island council, said: “As far as we know, the girl was walking back from her house when she was stopped by the three and forced to an abandoned house and raped.”
The girl was 15 years of age, the councillor added.
