The Maldives assistant prosecutor general resigned from her post Wednesday.
Aishath Fazna told local media she was leaving for personal reasons and refused to give further details.
Fazna was one of the prosecutors who led legal teams that brought charges against some of the top opposition figures in the country.
These trials have been condemned for being politically motivated and for their irregularities.
