Dismembered and headless corpse found at luxury Maldives resort

A dismembered and headless corpse discovered in the lagoon of a luxury resort has been buried, local media reports.
It was found floating by the water villas of Soneva Jani in Noonu atoll Thursday morning.
Pictures on social media show the corpse to be mostly decomposed and that its limbs and head are missing. A rope is tied around its torso.
Police went to the scene to to retrieve it.
The body has been buried on an uninhabited island after samples were taken for forensic analysis, a police spokesman confirmed to Mihaaru.
There are around 900 uninhabited islands in the Maldives.
