Statement on ‘protective custody’ for journalists in Faafu atoll

The police took Maldives Independent journalists Hassan Mohamed and Hassan Moosa into “protective custody” on the island of Nilandhoo, Faafu Atoll, on Wednesday after ruling party supporters threatened them with assault.
