Police have decided not to seek charges against lawyer Moosa Siraj who was arrested over explosive allegations implicating President Abdulla Yameen in practising sorcery and black magic.
The three statements revived long-standing rumours about Yameen over the sudden removal of areca palm trees and the mysterious disappearance of a crocodile from Malé.
Siraj was detained for seven days following his arrest on September 20. His apartment was raided and some items were confiscated.
“Police have today decided to return my phone, broken hard disk and wifi dongle. They have also decided to close the case,” he tweeted Monday.
He told Raajje TV the police did not give a reason for filing the case.
