MIFCO CEO, record electricity and genocide case

Farhath Shaheer, a retired brigadier general, was appointed as the new MIFCO CEO following the abrupt sacking of a Swiss national who managed the debt-ridden state fisheries company for less than three months. 

As warm weather returned after a bout of rain, electricity usage in Malé and Hulhumalé reached a record 92 megawatts, STELCO revealed, advising the public to conserve energy.
