An MVR 144 million (US$ 9.3 million) contract was signed with MTCC to redevelop an 830-metre stretch of Malé’s outer road between the Henveiru ferry terminal and the local market. In addition to sheet piling in the lagoon to expand the road to a four-lane drive, the project involves preparing the sub-base with tar and laying drainage service lines.

Faafu Magoodhoo protesters prevented the relocation of a welding plant set up for the island’s stalled airport project as MTCC staff tried to transfer equipment to complete work on the Meemu Muli airport.
