President Mohamed Nasheed has appointed Thalhath Ibrahim as the Minister of State for Defence and National Security.
Thalhath Ibrahim joined the then National Security Service (NSS) in 1989, rising to Lieutenant, and and later as a First Lieutenant at the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). He left the MNDF in 2006.
