Passengers evacuated after Hulhumale ferry collides with reef

A ferry traveling between Hulhumale’ and Male’ ran aground on the Hulhule reef on Thursday evening, police have said.
None of the 84 passengers were injured, and were evacuated by police in speedboats. The ferry was towed to Hulhumale.
The ferry captain told Haveeru that the ferry was undamaged because he cut the engine at the moment of collision.
