Islamic ministry reiterates ban on trading liquor on inhabited islands

Ministry of Islamic Affairs Dr Abdul Majeed Abdul Baari has restated that the ministry will never support the provision of liquor licenses on inhabited islands.
Baari’s comment comes as Miadhu reports that senior officials at Holiday Inn are expecting a license to be approved “next month”.
Miadhu claimed several NGOs against the ban were preparing for public demonstrations if the license was granted.
