Eid celebrations kicked off with a bonfire and music show in Hulhumalé. The traditional bonfire called Eid Malhi involves the burning of a palm-leaf pyre, usually set up over a shallow lagoon. Celebratory activities over the next three days include water sports in Hulhumalé and children’s evenings planned by the MNDF. In his message on the eve of Eid, President Muizzu encouraged “everyone to make each Eid a joyful memory and a blessed celebration that resonates deeply in all hearts.”
