The President’s Office hosted the fifth edition of the 'Ahaa’ forum, during which the homeland security minister, fisheries minister, education minister, higher education minister and the attorney general answered questions. 

Attorney General Ahmed Usham denied influencing the Supreme Court or the judiciary. He said allegations of him sending an agent to threaten Justice Azmiralda Zahir refer to comments he made to a mutual friend in early February. 

Homeland security minister Ali Ihsaan defended the police’s handling of the investigation into the unexplained fall of Hawwa Yumn Rasheed, maintaining that proper investigative protocols were followed. He attributed the public’s lack of confidence to opposition politicians, whom he accused of undermining the image and integrity of the police, which he said was a “cost” of the country’s transition to democracy. 

The Maldives Media Council condemned what it described as “cowardly attacks” of gender-specific harassment by senior officials of the People’s National Front, led by former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom, after Yameen, former vice president Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and another party official made sexist remarks towards SanguTV journalist Fathimath Madhadha during a party event.

A 34-year-old man who went missing after disembarking from a boat at Gaaf Dhaal Nadella was found over 24 hours later on a nearby uninhabited island. Police are investigating the circumstances around his disappearance.

Construction minister Abdulla Muhthalib told parliament the previous administration’s decision to shift the Faafu Nilandhoo airport to Magoodhoo was a mistake, but the current government will complete it. MTCC has been contracted to build a new airport in Nilandhoo.
