After raid, Sangu TV resumes live transmission
Sangu TV was forced off-air after the police confiscated all of the station’s hard disks during a raid in the early hours of Friday. Ibrahim Waheed ‘Asward,’ Sangu TV’s managing director, said the police have not returned the broadcasting equipment. The station used hard disks from its staff to resume broadcasting at 8:00pm last night.

Green climate fund grants Maldives US$23m for safe water
The UN’s climate fund has approved US$23.6 million for a project to ensure the delivery of safe freshwater to 105,000 people in the outer islands of the Maldives. The project is among the first eight investments approved by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), a global initiative established to provide financing from wealthy nations for adaptation projects in developing countries.

Midnight raids for weapons continue in Malé
According to local media, the police confiscated a pistol from the Thoathaage house in the Manchangoalhi ward of the capital. Maldivian man found murdered in Sri Lanka
A 29-year-old Maldivian man was found dead in a paddy field in the outskirts of Colombo, Sri Lanka on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Hussain Razeen ‘Rabarey,’ from the Hundred Flower house in the Henveiru ward of Malé. Razeen was a prime suspect in a murder committed in 2007.
