The police have confiscated the phones of Thayyib Shaheem and Shammoon ‘Lucas’ Jaleel , accusing the popular opposition social media activists of “spreading misinformation and sowing discord in society”.

Social media activist arrested for ‘inciting hatred’
Shammoon Jaleel was arrested with a court warrant on suspicion of fomenting unrest and inciting hatred among the public towards the security forces. The criminal court also authorised the police to confiscate his phone to extract all his conversations, text messages, and other interactions.

PPM MP threatens friend of missing journalist
A friend of missing journalist Ahmed Rilwan has asked for police protection after receiving a threatening phone call from a member of parliament, in which he said: “I’ve found you now, you’ll know what happens next, you know what happened to your partner.”
