More than 10,000 jobs will be created for local youths from a resort mega project, the tourism minister has said.
Moosa Zameer made the remarks in an interview with state media PSM on Tuesday regarding Emboodhoo Lagoon, SunOnline reported.
The first phase of the project will reclaim three islands for resort development and will be completed this year. The second phase will be completed within the next five years.
Phase one comprises “a three-island-resorts concept, with a core island township bringing a veritable wealth of world-class food and beverage, retail, entertainment, recreation and leisure-lifestyle experiences to the Maldives for the very first time,” according to the Thai developer Singha Estate.
