Champa Hussain Afeef’s Crown and Champa firm is opening its eighth resort resort in November, local media reported.
Innahuraa Maldives in Lhaviyani Atoll will have 78 rooms, according to PSM. The resort will have 33 sunset beach bungalows and 45 sunrise beach bungalows.
In May Champa’s Kuredu Holdings Company landed a project to build an airport in the same atoll, after the company offered an interest-free loan to the government for a different airport project.
Champa Hussain Afeef was one of the five rich businessman who was in the spotlight last week after appearing on state TV endorsing President Abdulla Yameen’s economic policies.
“I am not in the business of tourism, I am invested in the business of Maldives, to make Maldives better,” he was quoted as saying during a panel discussion with university students.
Afeef’s Crown and Champa Company already operates two other resorts in Lhaviyani atoll: Hurawalhi Maldives and Kuredu Island Resort and Spa.
