Silver Sands celebrates 25 years

               

Silver Sands Group is marking a major milestone this month as it celebrates 25 years since its founding. From humble beginnings in 2000 as a small inbound travel agency, the company has grown into one of the Maldives’ most established names in marine services.

What began in the spare bedroom of a Malé apartment with just a few bookings and a single Turkish liveaboard has today evolved into a group of companies employing more than 500 staff. Silver Sands now operates 14 dive, water sports and excursion centres across the country, supplies equipment through its retail outlet Sea Gear, builds and maintains vessels at its dedicated boat yard in Thilafushi, and offers high-end flooring, kitchens and interiors through EVO Home and EVO Surface.

The company’s founders credit the group’s success to its people, many of whom have been with the company for over a decade - as well as a shared commitment to service, safety, and innovation.

The 25th anniversary celebrations were held on June 13, bringing together long-time staff, partners, and special guests. The evening included a video presentation of the company’s journey, awards for longest-serving team members, and a message of thanks to the many people who contributed to its growth.

“Each and every member of Silver Sands, both individually and as part of a team, has played a vital role in the growth and success of this company. We have built our reputation by showing our partners that we are reliable, honest, consistent, and continuously seeking to improve what we do. What Silver Sands is today is because of you all” said Managing Director Hussain Thoufeeq Ali during a speech at the anniversary event held in Kurumba.

Chairman Ali Noordeen, Managing Director Hussain Thoufeeq Ali, and Director Abdul Latheef were joined by Chief Guest Abdul Azeez Abdul Hakeem and Distinguished Guest, Mr Ismail Hilmy for the occasion.

Looking ahead, the company says it plans to continue investing in its team and exploring new areas of growth.

“Trust and honesty are rare and priceless. You simply cannot put a monetary value on them, and yet those values are the foundations of everything we have built and achieved at Silver Sands,” said Thoufeeq.
