ODS Pvt Ltd is proud to announce the launch of Maldives’
first-ever Extended
Producer Responsibility (EPR) programme, reinforcing the company’s long-standing
commitment to environmental stewardship and circular economy practices.
Under the new EPR programme, ODS will buy back their ‘ONE’ brand PET bottles produced at their One Degree South Addu Factory
at a rate of MVR 0.33
per empty bottle or allow customers to earn Green Points which can be used for
future product purchases. For a bottle to be accepted under the EPR programme,
it should be emptied, clean and undamaged with caps, neck ring and with the company label
intact. Bottles that have been used to fill any other substance would not be
accepted.

During the initial phase, the main collection and return point will be located at the One Degree South Addu Factory in Hithadhoo. As the programme rolls out in the coming
months, additional collection points across major islands and cities will be
introduced to ensure widespread accessibility.
When the One Degree South Addu Factory opened in 2017, it introduced 18.9L reusable water barrels to Addu City, marking an important step toward
reducing plastic waste within the connected wards of the city. Similarly, the
new EPR programme ties down to the company’s core vision of “going forward with
the community - environmental consciousness, sustainability and quality at
heart” by creating a circular economy around its products.

Through this historic EPR initiative, ODS Pvt Ltd aims to
lead by example in promoting long-term environmental responsibility
across the Maldives. The company also stands firmly in its mission to provide high
quality products accompanied by an equally high quality of service in most
environmentally conscious and sustainable ways.
ODS Pvt Ltd is a 100 percent local food and beverage
company with its manufacturing facility – One Degree South Addu Factory –
located in Hithadhoo, Addu City, where it produces high quality bottled products.
Their current product portfolio includes 18.9L reusable water barrels, 1.5L
water bottles and 500ml water bottles which are bottled at source after being
treated with UV and Ozone purification technologies.
